**Introducing some of the recipients of school shoes in Chiquimula, Guatemala for the school year commencing February 2026**

The Law of Reciprocity In Full Effect

I want to state for the record that it has been my privilege and honor to lead the charge in raising funds for new school shoes annually for our students in Chiquimula, Guatemala. My organization, Thirst No More Corporation (TNMC) has partnered with my wife's Guatemalan NGO, MCYEP, to assure these students have the proper footwear to navigate the rocky and hilly terrain in this region. It has been a wonderful experience working alongside my incredible wife, who at the youthful age of 78, organizes and strategizes everything related to the distribution of these school shoes every year with the assistance of her long-time administrator, Gilma Ramos.

So why am I talking about reciprocity? From God's perspective, reciprocity is His promise that our giving from a Kingdom perspective, will always be met by Him with a return that expands well beyond the gift(s) we have offered (Luke 6:38). Well bringing things down to earth, our shoe supplier and amazing business woman Dunia Diaz de Calderon of Zapateria Manuelitas (Manuelitas Shoe Store), summoned me to her place of business to bless me with a pair of shoes of my liking. For me it was so embarrassing because I am not used to being the recipient; normally I am usually doing the giving. I mean she did not limit me by price of anything else. I felt so valued as a client of her shop for several years now with our children. I was smiling the remainder of the day. Below, take a look at my beautiful deck shoes, which at the time of this writing; have been worn several times, and they are so comfortable. I ended my shoe blessing by taking a short trip across the street from Dunia's shop to spend a few precious moments in her home.

School Shoe Pickup Day Is Here!

On Wednesday mornings Myra can be found at her ministry building, participating with the women of the community in worship and Bible teaching and sharing. This is also my time to share in ministry with our group in Pakistan via Whatsapp. Normally after I share with our wonderful families in the city of Jahanian, I can go about the business of the day to support TNMC. However, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Myra, Gilma, and our son Angel came to pick me up after the women's service to pickup the shoes. By golly, Myra even continued to drive us there, even though I normally drive when we are together.

We arrived to Dunia's shop and her staff was so wonderful to us. Dunia's staff went about the business of sorting, checking, and boxing the school shoes for our children. What is always so amazing about my time in Chiquimula is that the people for the most part are so kind and affectionate; there was nothing but joyful banter throughout the whole process. When all inventory and payment arrangements had been settled, Angel and I loaded up the school shoes in the back of our Renault Duster and off we went back to Myra's ministry building to store them for distribution the following Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, January 17, 2026 marks what we believe has been the 10th year TNMC has provided school shoes for the children connected to Myra's MCYEP in Chiquimula. For me, it is always a time of being happy for all the recipients; usually spending most of the distribution of this footwear taking photos and videos of the proceedings. Again, I want to thank Myra's staff; Gilma and Sindy Vasquez, for handling the entire distribution, with Myra having to pose with every child...at my instructions. I also need to thank the many of you who provided the necessary funds to allow us to bless these children. We simply cannot thank you enough for your continued support, and pray that support will continue as we are now taking new donations for the February 2027 school year.
